The purpose of this research is to examine teachers' views about schools' openness to change The sample of the research consists of 397 teachers working in 18 elementary and 12 secondary schools in the central district of Kocaeli. Faculty Change Orientation Scale -FCOS which was developed by Smith & Hoy (2007) was used for the study. The results of this study showed that teachers' perceptions about schools' openness to change differ significantly according to their gender, length of service, branches and type of school. Future studies can investigate causes of negative perceptions of teachers, by using qualitative methods.
