This paper aims to emphasize the importance of using Moodle in foreign language learning and teaching by reviewing relevant literature and introducing a Moodle-based environment aiming to help English learners to practice their English by themselves. Firstly, the use of Moodle in education and more specifically in English Language Teaching is discussed. Secondly, the summary of the rationale behind the Moodle platform is presented. Finally, a snapshot from the platform is shown and the features of it are explained briefly. It is argued at the end of the paper that e-learning platforms like Moodle have certain advantages in facilitating the foreign language learning process.
