Philosophies of Reading Instruction
Ediger, Marlow
Reading Improvement, v50 n3 p132-134 Fall 2013
There are selected philosophies of reading instruction which are relevant in providing for individual differences among learners. These need to be studied in-depth by reading teachers in order to best provide for each pupil in the classroom. Pupils differ from each other in reading achievement, interests, and purposes, and it is a challenge to assist each child to become the best reader possible in achieving objectives of instruction.
