Full-Circle Support: Creating Successful Connections between Home and School
Crawley, Brenda
Independent School, v72 n2 Win 2013
This article notes that building bridges between school and home is not easy for anyone--even those who understand the value of such efforts. For all parents, the struggle lies in figuring out how open to be with the school. At some point, every parent wonders how much personal information needs to be revealed and whether or not that revelation will help or hurt the child. Most important, parents wonder if they will be judged by teachers. This brief article gives some suggestions on how to establish a healthy connection between school and home, stating that communication, trust, and understanding are required between teachers and parents.
