Student political activism appears to be, at least in part, a function of socialization experiences and political alienation. One indicator of socialization experiences was perception of independence from parents. Another indicator, sex, proved to be significantly associated with all protest activities. Societal grievances were significantly associated with all indicators of activism. (Authors/RJ)
