Innovation in the Age of More
Isseks, Mark
Principal Leadership, v13 n2 p26-30 Oct 2012
Educators across the United States are facing more pressure to have more success, with more mandates, more testing, and more accountability and are being given less money and fewer resources to make it all happen. Essentially, schools are being instructed by the state and federal departments of education to make up a king-size bed with queen-size sheets. These are transformational times. In the last 15 years, technological and informational revolutions have altered the course of humankind by connecting everyone in unprecedented ways and have even inspired uprisings against despotic regimes around the world. If school leaders are going to do more with less, they must not only harness the power of these new tools but also appreciate what has happened and how it happened.
