Public Attitudes Toward Welfare
Kallen, David J.; Miller, Dorothy
Social Work, 16, 3, 83-90, Jul 71
This paper describes attitudes toward welfare among a sample of three hundred black and three hundred white women. Besides welfare, four correlative scales tapped political conservatism, antiblack attitudes, authoritarianism, and alienation. Among the correlative attitudes, antiwelfare whites held antiblack and often politically conservative beliefs and antiwelfare blacks were often conservative. (Author)
