Attitude Changes in a Mathematics Laboratory Utilizing a Mathematics-Through-Science Approach

Reported is a study measuring attitude changes among eighth-graders resulting from studying a unit in mathematics using laboratory materials. Students were grouped into eight naturally occurring attitude-groups. The results indicate that the formation of attitude-groups is not a major factor for consideration in the design of mathematics units taught via physical materials. (Author/CT)
