Antecendents of Optimal Psychological Adjustment
Siegelman, Ellen; And Others
Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 35, 3, 283-297, Dec '70
Findings univocally indicated healthy, democratic, value oriented homes among high optimal adjustment Ss. Good adult adjustment was associated with a cognitively competent and integrated mother. Poor adult adjustment was associated with a neurotic, anxious mother for both boys and girls, and additionally with a neurotic father for girls. Followed by interpretive comments in articles by Daniel R. Miller and Uric Bronfenbrenner. (Author/CJ)
