Studies in Pattern Detection in Normal and Autistic Children. II. Reproduction and Production of Color Sequences
Frith, Uta
Journal of Experimental Child Psychology, 10, 1, 120-135, Aug '70
Findings are consistent with the hypothesis of an input processing deficit in autistic children. Autistic children were insensitive to differences in the structures present and tended to impose their own simple stereotyped patterns. Normal children imposed such patterns in the absence of structured input only. Paper reports work which has been submitted to the University of London as part of a Ph.D thesis. (Author/WY)
