This First Look presents findings from the provisional data of the Integrated Postsecondary Data System (IPEDS) Spring 2015 data collection, which included four survey components: (1) Enrollment at postsecondary institutions during fall 2014; (2) Finance, for the 2014 fiscal year; (3) Human Resources at postsecondary institutions during fall 2014; and (4) Academic Libraries for the 2014 fiscal year. Data for all components were collected through the IPEDS web-based data collection system. The purpose of this report is to introduce new data through tables containing descriptive information. The findings presented here demonstrate the range of information available through IPEDS; they include only a sample of the information collected. While only a few of the data included in the Spring 2015 collection are displayed in this First Look, all data from the Spring 2015 collection are publicly available through the IPEDS Data Center. Selected findings are included in the following areas: (1) Characteristics of Enrolled Students; (2) Revenues and expenses of Title IV Entities; (3) Employees in Postsecondary Institutions, and (4) Academic Library Collections. Appended are (1) Data Collection and Procedures; and (2) Glossary of IPEDS Terms.
