Oxfordshire Reading Campaign: Interim Evaluation Report, September 2012-July 2013
Bailey, Bianca; Clark, Christina
National Literacy Trust
In July 2012 the National Literacy Trust were commissioned by Oxfordshire County Council to deliver the Oxfordshire Reading Campaign, a two-year initiative targeting Oxfordshire primary schools and the wider community, with the aim of substantially improving reading levels at Key Stage 1 and to increase the number of pupils reaching level 2b+. This report evaluates the first year of the Oxfordshire Reading Campaign, which took place from September 2012 to July 2013. It outlines the success of the campaign which has led to an increase in literacy levels and literacy engagement at Key Stage 1 across Oxfordshire. It also shows that there has been a positive change in the confidence of parents and community members who now feel more confident to support their child's literacy development. Two appendices are included: (1) Evaluation Methodology; and (2) Project X Code Annual Report.
