The 2014 AGB Survey of Higher Education Governance
Hodge-Clark, Kristen
Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges
"The 2014 AGB Survey of Higher Education Governance" is the fourth in AGB's studies of college and university governance. This report, based on survey responses from 592 public and independent boards, addresses a range of important governance topics that are receiving attention from boards and the news media, including presidential compensation, board leadership, and board performance assessments, among other issues. The goal of this report is to encourage discussion among boards and institutional leaders about effective governance practices and how their institutions compare with peers. Sections include board assessments, the board's role in presidential compensation, board policies, risk management, and board engagement. A list of resources is provided at the end, as are recommended practices. A must for educated boardrooms. [See the "2011 ABG Survey" in ERIC at ED535780.]
