Perception and Experience of Transformative Learning and Faculty Authenticity among North American Professors of Christian Education
Kang, Hokyung Paul
ProQuest LLC, Ph.D. Dissertation, Biola University
Through convenient purposeful sampling, 16 professors from North American Professors of Christian Education were recruited for this study. Through consulting key personnel in NAPCE a pool of participants were attained (n = 16). The findings from the research study revealed the elements contributing to the way that participants experienced and perceived transformative learning and faculty authenticity. Eventually, an overarching construct called "pedagogy of authenticity" was constructed. The prominent components of "pedagogy of authenticity" were identified: integrity, facilitating disorientation and relational teaching. Strategies for implication of "pedagogy of authenticity" were discussed as well. [The dissertation citations contained here are published with the permission of ProQuest LLC.
