Effects of I Can Learn (ICL) on the Attitudes and Academic Achievement of Eighth Grade Math Students in Two Rural Tennessee School Districts
Woods, Courtney S.
ProQuest LLC, Ed.D. Dissertation, Trevecca Nazarene University
The purpose of this study was to determine if the use of an online mathematics program, I CAN Learn (ICL), impacted the attitudes and academic achievement of eighth grade students in rural Tennessee. This study was accomplished through the use of quantitative and qualitative data including attitude surveys, interviews, and observations of 2010-2011 mathematics TCAP data. The results of the study indicated no significant difference in attitudes or academic achievement for students in the experimental group (who received the ICL treatment) when compared to those in the control group (who received traditional instruction).
