A qualitative case study was conducted on the Mooresville Graded School Districts's (MGSD) digital conversion for the entire school district. MGSD is a semi-rural small suburban school district with 5,450 students kindergarten through twelfth grade. The school district consists of three elementary schools, two intermediate schools, one middle school, one technology and arts school, and one high school. The data for this study were comprised of interviews and an extensive record analysis conducted on meeting agendas, presentation notes, strategic plans, action plans, etc. The researcher focused this study on the factors of the design, planning and implementation that lead to the success of the conversion. The study compares the steps that MGSD took as it relates to the literature for change management. This study also provides a guide for steps a school system could take to implement a change initiative. [The dissertation citations contained here are published with the permission of ProQuest LLC.
