Sixty Iranian high school EFL learners between 14 and 16 males participated in this study were randomly divided into two groups; experimental, and control. As the study aimed to know whether vocabulary strategy training effects on vocabulary learning of Iranian students, at first the control and experimental group were given a writing per-test containing 40 vocabulary multiple choice tests. The mean score for both groups was approximately the same. After training of vocabulary learning strategies to experimental group for the period of 2 months, the researcher gave both groups 40 vocabulary multiple choice tests. The control did not receive the strategies of vocabulary training. A "t-test" on the mean scores of both groups indicated a significant difference between the scores of the post-tests, meaning that the vocabulary strategy training was significantly effective in the experimental group. Moreover, while the mean scores of the control group's per-post tests were the same, the mean score of the experimental group's post-test was higher than that of the per-test. (Contains 8 tables.)
