This document lays out the strategy for achieving the goals and objectives of NEETF's "Health Care Provider Initiative." The goal of NEETF's "Health Care Provider Initiative" is to incorporate environmental health into health professionals' education and practice in order to improve health care and public health, with a special emphasis on protecting children and other populations disproportionately affected by environmental pollutants. The strategic plan is based on the National Strategies for Health Care Providers: Pesticides Initiative Implementation Plan, which was developed by experts as a model that can be applied to other environmental health issues and was built upon the Institute of Medicine reports recommending the integration of environmental health issues throughout training and clinical practice for health care providers.
