The Effects of Data Team Integration in a Middle Tennessee Elementary School

The purpose of this study was to determine if using a student-centered approach to data analysis could have an effect on the attitudes of the teachers involved in the process. Interventions were developed that would be representative of a student-centered model and implemented for a specific duration. The action research project gathered teachers' attitudes on the subject of data analysis using both quantitative and qualitative methods to determine if significant differences existed. Additionally, data were gathered detailing the amount of time spent on the process in an attempt to determine its effect on teacher attitudes as well. Finally, the research sought to determine the usefulness of benchmark testing in Reading/Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies.
