The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of Wisconsin Association of School Councils Leadership Camp (WASCLC) on the lives of its participants. The participants in this study were those that attended WASCLC in 1999, 2004, and 2009. The research model chosen was QUAN greater than qual. The quantitative research method was an extensive online survey. The qualitative portion utilized targeted interview questions based on the quantitative results. Findings were that participation in WASCLC did positively impact the lives of its camp participants in the development of leadership skills as determined by the WASC Leadership Standards. It did this through skill development, mentorship, and engaging activities. The factors inherent in effective leadership youth development were found embedded in the camp experience.
