Perceptions of Classroom versus Online Education on the Ministerial Competencies of the Church of the Nazarene for Adult Ministerial Students

This study addressed the comparison of classroom education with online education in helping adult ministerial students reach the specific levels of competencies in the fields of theology and pastoral care in the Church of the Nazarene. As the Director of the Alabama Nazarene School of Ministry and a member of the Master's Teacher Program of training in the modular curriculum, the researcher surveyed participants in the varied courses of study, as well as the leaders who evaluate the participants of the Southeastern Districts of the Church of the Nazarene. No significant difference was found between the three modes of study. The results were shared with these District leaders to help in the evaluation of their programs of education.
