Teacher Education Accreditation Council Brochure
Teacher Education Accreditation Council
The Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC), founded in 1997, is dedicated to improving academic degree programs for professional educators--those who teach and lead in schools, pre-K through grade 12. TEAC accredits undergraduate and graduate programs, including alternate route programs, based on (1) the evidence they have that they prepare competent, caring, and qualified professional educators and (2) their capacity to monitor and improve the program's quality. TEAC believes that this is the soundest way to assure the public about the quality of college and university programs. This brochure summarizes TEAC's goal and principles and the TEAC Accreditation Framework.
