Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems have greatly enhanced the efficiency and continuity of the business process and the flow of information technology in order to support organizations. ERP was intended to be used as a tool for manufacturing in an effort to build a more cohesive customer relationship. Lately many "Fortune" 500 companies have failed to meet the standards of ERP in an effort to become ISO 9000 compliant. It is paramount that educational institutional faculty enhance the importance of ERP in relationship to ISO 9000 to students in business and information technology curriculum. There is a lack of research publications regarding ERP faculty teaching methods and emphasis. Consequently, the research seeks to investigate Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) teaching methods, applications, and attitudes related to ISO 9000 core standards by a cohort of information technology faculty within an institution of higher learning and compare that information with ERP practitioners' perceptions of academic preparedness for real world organizations in order to improve or maintain future ERP curricula programming. The interview responses by ERP faculty and practitioners will help identify shortcomings in related curricula and determine what needs to be improved in order for ERP stakeholders to be more successful.
