Increasing Career Choices, located at the National Center on Deafness, Cal State Northridge, is committed to assisting students and alumni who are deaf and hard-of-hearing to improve their job seeking skills and enhance employment opportunities. In addition, it is dedicated to working with employers and providing information about workplace accommodations and the benefits of hiring employees who are deaf and hard-of-hearing. This book has been developed to provide readers with basic information and to serve as a reference tool to guide them to a variety of useful resources. Readers will find answers to commonly asked questions regarding hiring and working with people who are deaf or hard-of-hearing, such as communication in the workplace including assistive devices, interpreters and other accommodations that can be easily achieved.
