Crisis Communication and Management: Surviving a Public Relations Crisis
Eramo, Eric M.
Online Submission, Master's Thesis, Park University
Crisis management, or crisis communication, is never a good thing for a business to experience. It is, however, a public relations' professional moment to shine and put their honed skills to good use. A good crisis management plan is not only action during the crisis but preparation and reflection. Hiring a PR firm that deals with crisis management DURING a crisis is less advisable for all concerned, and can be very costly, for you should already be prepared, and have a plan in place, before a crisis occurs. Time is always of the essence during a crisis, so preparation is a must. If you are prepared to deal with a crisis, using proven methods based on prior case studies, accompanied by effective training, you can successfully maneuver through a crisis. This lesson will prepare you to do so, and will give you the confidence and correct techniques to not only succeed but excel. (Contains 7 graphics.)
