As globalization increases, many corporations are faced with sending managers to foreign countries. With the increase in expatriate managers, a critical issue must be addressed--the high failure rate of expatriates. The literature shows mentoring to be a critical component in developing and retaining expatriate managers. The growing discipline of e-mentoring is proposed as a possible means to satisfy the need for mentoring, ultimately playing a role in the reduction of the failure rate. (Contains 2 tables.)
