An understanding of organisational structure can provide guidance for organisations that want to change and innovate. Many writers agree that this understanding allows organisations to shape how their work is done to ultimately achieve their business goals--and that too often structure is given little consideration in business strategy and development. This fact sheet has been produced by the consortium research program's research activity 4: Cultures and structures. Its aim is to help RTOs develop a greater understanding of the impact of organisational structure on their organisational capability.
