Elements of Effective Practice[TM]. 2nd Edition
This publication presents guidelines to help mentoring relationships thrive and endure, and includes measures any mentoring program can implement to offer mentoring that does everything in its power to help young people and keep them from harm's way. The guidelines are based on research that affirms the importance of accountability and responsibility in meeting young people's needs, and are based on field experience. The first mentoring "Elements of Effective Practice" were developed and published in 1990; these existing guidelines were reassessed and supplemented by new ideas and new practices, to reflect the most current mentoring policies, practices, experiences and research. A brief glossary of terms is included.
