The Emergency Response and Crisis Management (ERCM) Technical Assistance Center's "ERCMExpress" is a newsletter that provides comprehensive information on key issues in school emergency management. This issue, entitled "Emergency Management Opportunities and Challenges for Non-Public Schools," examines integrating non-public schools into emergency management planning and suggests eight steps that non-public schools can take to develop emergency management plans. It compares public and non-public schools in the United States and presents stories from the field exemplifying how non-public schools have collaborated with local education agencies to develop school emergency management plans and share resources. An annotated list of resources is also included. (Contains 3 footnotes.)
