Serving Independent Colleges and Universities: Council of Independent Colleges Annual Report 2002-2003
Council of Independent Colleges
Founded in 1956, the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) is an association of independent colleges and universities working together to: (1) support college leadership; (2) advance institutional excellence; and (3) enhance private higher education's contributions to society. CIC is the only national organization that focuses solely on providing services directly to independent colleges and universities. To fulfill its mission, CIC provides ideas, resources, and programs that assist institutions in improving leadership expertise, educational programs, administrative and financial performance, and institutional visibility. The theme of this year's annual report, "Serving Independent Higher Education," reflects not only the Council of Independent Colleges' efforts over the past year to implement the third phase of the strategic planning initiative, but reinforces CIC's mission. It highlights the major initiatives of 2002-2003 and provides a financial statement and lists of contributors, directors, task force and committee members, and institutional members of CIC.
