Teach with Your Strengths: How Great Teachers Inspire Their Students
Liesveld, Rosanne; Miller, Jo Ann
Gallup Press
What do great teachers do differently? This book argues that they make the most of their natural talents and do not strive to be well-rounded. In this book, readers will hear from great teachers, many of whom reveal their unorthodox--and sure-to-be-controversial--approaches. The reader will gain key insights gleaned from 40 years of research into great teaching. Also included in the book is an online assessment that one can take to reveal one's "Signature Themes" of talent. Following an introduction, it is divided into the following chapters: (1) The Unorthodox Behavior of Great Teachers; (2) Why You Are Who You Are; (3) Discovering Your Signature Themes; (4) Putting Your Talents to Work; and (5) Where Do You Go from Here? A list of references is also included. Appended is: The Clifton StrengthsFinder: Research FAQs. ["Teach with Your Strengths" was written with Jennifer Robison.]
