A practical new text with ideas that can immediately be put to use in the classroom. The fourth part of the book, Children Construct Their Own Knowledge, contains: (8) Listening, Viewing, and Speaking: Building Blocks for Language and Literacy; and (9) Writing in the Music Classroom. Finally, the last part of the book entitled, Literacy Is Not Measured by a Single Output, contains the concluding chapter: (10) Assessing Music Literacy Skills. Also included are: Authentic Exercises; and Student Work.
