In November 1999, Governor Bob Taft requested that the Board of Regents annually produce a performance report for Ohio's state-supported colleges and universities. This year's report has been redesigned to improve its readability. This document is a small sampling of the 2003 Performance Report. This issue demonstrates the kind of useful information available to students, parents, legislators and other policy makers, as well as campus faculty and staff. Information includes: (1) Existence of growing educational opportunities; (2) High-quality programs; (3) How degree attainment helps graduates and the states; (4) R&D and workforce training=economic development; (5) Incoming students who are unprepared for college; (6) Student retention, degree completion and time-to-degree completion; and (7) State funding is low, yet tuition is high.
