This profile derived from U.S. Census 2000 data presents educational and socioeconomic information for Kern County, California, nearby counties, and the state. The profile highlights the relationship between various factors that affect the economic well-being of individuals and communities. This presentation of information provides a framework for enhanced communication and collaboration among state and local agencies that have responsibility for education, economic development, workforce training, or social services. Data is presented on preparation for college, college choices, community college entrance rates, educational attainment, racial and ethnic composition, and median household income.
