Success for Upstate New York: Success for All Schools in Upstate New York Continue Gains on ELA
Success for All Foundation
Success for All is the most extensively researched of all comprehensive reform models for Title I elementary schools. It incorporates scientifically based principles of reading, cooperative learning, professional development, tutoring, and family support. Schools in Upstate New York using the Success for All reading program continue to make significant gains on the state's English Language Arts (ELA) assessments. From 2000 to 2004, fourth graders in Success for All schools gained 7.7 percentage points in students scoring proficient or better on the state test, more than double the gain in the state as a whole (3.5 points).
