Fifth Annual Report on School Performance, 2001-2002.
Edison Project, New York, NY.
This report provides a consolidated public record of the performance of Edison-run schools. Edison agrees to provide annually to each local partner comprehensive information about the operation and outcomes of its local partnership schools. Edison is also required by charter-school laws to report on its partnership schools. This report includes student performance information on every Edison school under Edison management as of the end of the 2001-02 school year. Also included are school profiles, which report the achievement history of each school from the year the school came under Edison's management through the 2001-02 school year. The rules for calculating achievement trends and selecting schools for inclusion in the various analyses in the report are detailed in six appendices. The report is organized into the following sections: "Key Initiatives 2002-2003"; "Evaluating Edison Schools"; "Starting School Right: Putting the Edison Design in Place"; "Implementing the School Design"; "Raising Student Achievement"; "The Achievement Gap"; "No Child Left Behind"; "Customer Satisfaction"; "Conclusion"; and "Individual School Reports." The report contains many tables, charts, and graphs to supplement the text. (WFA)
