Glossary of Social Studies Terms and Vocabulary.
Todorov, Karen R., Comp.
This glossary is a tool to help teachers better understand the language of social studies. It was not created to be a study guide for vocabulary tests, as learning social studies vocabulary is best done in context. The glossary is for use in conjunction with the social studies portion of Michigan's Clarifying Language in Michigan Benchmarks (MI CliMB), and other projects, to provide teachers with an answer to the question "What does that word mean?" The glossary contains 500+ words. It assists with the improvement of student achievement based on Michigan social studies standards, a component of responsible citizenship. (BT)
