Higher Education Funding Council for England, Bristol.
This is one of two reports by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) drawing on research and wide consultation that gave guidance and examples of good practice to support the provision of higher education in further education colleges in England. This document, concerned with strategy, is aimed at senior managers. A companion volume is directed at tutors and lecturers. Chapters of this guide are: (1) "How Colleges Used the HEFCE Development Funding"; (2) "Relationship between Scholarly Activity, Research, and Teaching and Learning: A Review of the Evidence"; (3) Case Studies of Partnership and Collaboration"; and (4) "Strategic Planning and Management." Three annexes list members of the advisory and working groups, discuss recent legislation on disability and race relations, and provide addresses and Web sites related to the good practices project.
