This volume describes federal student financial aid programs that are administered at the state level. Students must meet state eligibility requirements to receive assistance or benefits from these programs. The State grant programs are: (1) the Leveraging Educational Assistance Partnership (LEAP) Program; (2) the Special Leveraging Educational Assistance Partnership (SLEAP) Program; (3) the Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship Program; and (4) Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR Up). Chapter 1 describes the LEAP program and its administration, while chapter 2 describes the Byrd Scholarship Program. (SLD)
