The Use of Hypertext and Animation for Online Learning.

The research presented in this paper examines the effect of hypertext and animation in the context of online learning. With an increasing number of online courses and degrees offered through the Internet and a rapidly increasing enrollment in such courses, it is important to assess and understand how these online features can affect or contribute toward learning. The paper proposes and tests a model to explain and predict the effect of hypertext and animation on online learning. Preliminary results of the study are reported.
