Evaluation Toolkit: A Tailored Approach to Evaluation for Parenting Projects.
This toolkit presents a collection of accessible guidelines, measures, and tools to guide and implement evaluation of parenting education and support interventions. Designed primarily for people who are new to evaluation, it contains additional advice and guidance for those with a higher level of understanding or knowledge and it may also be useful as a teaching tool. The toolkit contains the following elements: an introduction to monitoring and evaluation and a brief overview of research methods; practical advice in planning an evaluation, taking into consideration such factors as resources, timing and working with external evaluators; discussion of issues particularly relevant to the evaluation of parenting programs (including ethical issues and researching with children); guidance on asking questions and devising questionnaires; examples of data collection tools, including standardized instruments; case-studies of real-life evaluations; a comprehensive glossary of commonly used research and evaluation terms; a reading list and references to other supporting materials; and a user feedback form.
