"Once Upon a Bully": A Class Discussion Story and Workbook for Teachers and Students.
Ironfield, John Albert
This workshop kit contains a class discussion story and a workbook for teachers and students. It is intended to promote self-expression in a nonthreatening, friendly environment using reading, writing, drawing, and performing, all based on interpretation versus imitation. The story, "Once Upon a Bully," describes a potentially terrifying confrontation through the eyes of the weaker child. The kit includes a series of crucial questions that are deliberately left unanswered so that readers can inject their own personal interpretations and rewrite the story from their own perspectives. Additional tools in the visual and writing arts are provided to guide users in their self-expression. They include drawing out ideas, writing thoughts using poetry, and performing skits from stories.
