Research Relationships between Higher Education Institutions and the Charitable Sector. A Report by JM Consulting to the HEFCE on Mapping and Good Practice. Research Report.
Higher Education Funding Council for England, Bristol.
This report maps the range of existing research links between higher education institutions (HEIs) and charities and helps readers understand the factors that drive and influence these links. The report also discusses issues and difficulties that may inhibit maximum value for both parties and recommends how links could be developed to mutual advantage. The report also looks in depth at financial issues, especially those related to cost recovery by HE institutions on charity-funded research. A summary of the issues in this report and recommendations to both HE and charity sectors are in the companion report. Five appendixes discuss the study methodology and present additional details about charity funded research. A glossary is included. (Contains 12 tables and 5 figures.) (SLD)
