This handbook outlines Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) processes to facilitate "collaborative reviews" between MSCHE and other specialized and professional accreditors, governmental agencies, and other organizations that are selected by the institution being reviewed. Guidelines were developed in 1997 and subjected to a 4-year pilot for tests that included 21 institutional reviews. These revised guidelines incorporate improvements developed during the pilot and those suggested by the 102 instructional or agency representatives who were surveyed to evaluate the pilot project.
