Alberta Initiative for School Improvement: Administrative Handbook.
Alberta Learning, Edmonton.
The Alberta Initiative for School Improvement (AISI) is being implemented in Alberta school jurisdictions and charter schools in the 2000-01 school year. While the "Framework for the Alberta Initiative for School Improvement," December 1999, provides the AISI background, goals, principles, considerations, clarifications, and questions/answers, this handbook provides the AISI program and implementation details. The basic purpose of the handbook is to provide school jurisdictions and charter schools all the provincial and local requirements and processes needed for planning, funding, implementing, managing, evaluation, reporting, and sharing of school-improvement projects. The AISI Education partners recognize that planning and implementing school-improvement projects require substantial effort by all involved. The AISI requirements and processes framework were developed to assist personnel involved in such projects in understanding the "what,""how,""when," and "who" of AISI before commencing the needs and planning processes for their improvement projects. AISI school jurisdiction and charter-school proposal summary forms are supplied. (DFR)
