Bridges to Student Success: Exemplary Programs, 2002.

This document presents 11 student affairs programs selected by the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators as being exemplary programs in their field. All of the programs demonstrate innovative approaches to improving campus life and expanding opportunities for students. The programs address a broad range of objectives, including giving students more ways to learn outside the classroom; enhancing their leadership skills; orienting new students to the challenges of college life; and providing ready access to skilled psychological counselors. The 11 programs include (1) "Faculty Fellows Program" (University of Arizona); (2) "First year in 40 Minutes" (Cleveland State University); (3) "Student Leadership Development Program" (Northern Essex Community College); (4)"Learn to Lead" (Pierce College Puyallup); (5) "Collegia Program" (Seattle University); (6) "Syracuse University in the Community" (Syracuse University); (7) "Counselor-In-Residence Program (University of Arkansas); (8) "Lavender Celebration" (University of California at Los Angeles); (9) "Restorative Justice Program" (University of Colorado at Boulder); (10) "GIRLS TALK: A Mentoring Partnership" (University of Maine at Farmington); and (11) Carolinian Creed Week (University of South Carolina).
