This resource is designed for faculty and administrators who use case studies to analyze, assess, and respond to the issues facing higher education leaders. It is especially designed to complement the series of casebooks of the Harvard Institutes for Higher Education. Following an introduction, Teaching and Learning with Case Studies, the chapters are: (1) Overview: Using Cases in Higher Education; (2) Case Studies as Teaching Tools; (3) Essential Elements of Effective Case Teaching; and (4) Post-Discussion Learning. An appendix presents a case study from Kansas State University. An annotated bibliography describes 19 resources. (SLD)
