Annual Survey of State Student Assessment Programs, Spring 2001. Data Volumes I and II. Data on 1998-1999 Statewide Student Assessment Programs.
Council of Chief State School Officers, Washington, DC.
This year marks the seventh edition of the "Summary of State Student Assessment Programs" (SSAP) and the third year that the Council of Chief State School Officers has conducted the survey on which the summary is based on its own. The survey summarizes what is happening in statewide assessment programs and provides information on trends in state assessment activities. In the Data Volumes each question in the survey yields at least one data table. Data in the two volumes provide information on the status of, and trends in, state assessment policy and practice. Volume I contains these sections: (1) "SSAP Survey Instruction for 1998-1999"; (2) "Summary Table"; (3) "State Assessment Directors, May 2001"; and (4) "Data Tables." The fourth section, only part of which is in Volume I, contains information on the program overview, special topics, and program components. The balance of the fourth section is in Volume 2. Volume 2 contains the following sections: (1) "Program Components"; (2) "Performance Standards"; (3) "Students with Disabilities, Exemptions, and Accommodations"; and (5) "Assessment Results Reporting." The numerous questions from the survey are accompanied by many tables. (SLD)
