Items listed under State of Affairs identify trends throughout institutions, targeting specific situations from which both administrators and librarians can gain a new perspective about challenges facing colleges and universities today. Publications that discuss the academic librarian as a technologist, an educator, a faculty member and collaborator, and an Internet consultant are listed next. The citations conclude with a look at the issues confronting the management of college and university libraries and a list of associations to assist academic librarians in their profession.
