This document provides summary statistics for public community and technical colleges in Texas. It is divided into two sections. Section 1 contains comparative financial data for all public community and technical college districts and systems, including tax base, collections and total assessed tax rates; total education and general fund expenditures; and federal financial assistance. The totals of these financial data for all the districts and systems were reported as: net assessed valuation $488,267,571,287; taxes collected $471,135,909; education and general fund expenditures $2,086,396,166; and federal financial aid $383,453,870 (vocational education basic grant $29,213,593; tech-prep grant $6,091,797; Pell grant $201,417,088; and other $146,731,392). Section 2 provides a one page snapshot of summary statistics for each of the 74 colleges, including primary service area population; district assessed valuation and tax rate; district total education and general fund expenditures; total course-based remediation appropriations; faculty information (full-time vs. part-time); student characteristics (college and statewide comparison of total headcount; average age; and percentages of academic majors, technical majors, gender and ethnicity); full-time student equivalent (FTSE) enrollment by academic and technical programs and by in-district and out-of-district; number and levels of college technical programs offered; and college degrees and certificates conferred.
